Beloved mother of James (Allison) Novak.
Sister of Doris (Leroy) McBroom, Robert (Debbie) Powers, and Lewis (Lisa) Powers.
Brenda was the youngest of four children of Robert and Shirley Powers. She attended Quincy College for a few years which she called her "wild years". Brenda was a huge fan of country music through the early 2000's. Brenda met her future husband Bob at the Peterson "bowling" Classic where they were both workers. They were married in October of 1984 and had 35 wonderful years together. Brenda and Bob visited about 100 zoos during their time together. Brenda was the animal photographer and Bob was the animal identifier.
In August of 1988 they welcomed their son James Jonathan Novak into the world. She helped instill a passion for baseball that would unite the family for over 20 years. All three served on the board of directors at Midway Baseball Association.
Brenda always stressed the importance of family, and enjoyed spending time with her extended family and close friends. At the time of of her death, she worked at RJB Janitorial Service for 20 wonderful months.
