Joan P. (nee Sabye) Jancik

It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us at the age of 92. She departed this world gently, surrounded by her loving family, just as she had lived—wrapped in the warmth of those she cherished most.

She was a woman of quiet strength, boundless grace, and unwavering devotion. For more than nine decades, she poured her heart into her family, loving them fiercely and completely. Whether through a helping hand, a listening ear, a home-cooked meal, or simply her steady, reassuring presence, she was always there—lifting others up in countless ways, often without fanfare. Her love was the kind that shaped generations, leaving a legacy of kindness, resilience, and deep familial bonds that will continue to guide us all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Sabye; her beloved husband, Mel, with whom she is now joyfully reunited; and her precious great-grandson, Thomas. Their memories remained close to her heart every single day.

Her beautiful legacy lives on through her devoted children: Jim, Pat, Karen (Rich), and Tom (Sandra).

She was the proud grandmother of Jacob (Brittany), Jared (Tania), Henry (Lexi), Ian, Duncan, Erinn (Nate), Gavin (Vanessa), Nathan (Rose), Lauren, Haley, Patrick, Heather, Matthew, Johnny, and Julie.

She was also blessed with her adoring great-grandchildren: Lore, Johnny, Caspian, Eleanore, Mabel, Olivia, Logan, and Archer. Her great-grandchildren Lore and Johnny held a special place in her heart; their laughter, hugs, and time spent together lit up her world in a way only they could, serving as one of her greatest sources of happiness in her later years.

Her family was her greatest treasure, and she was ours. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, her wisdom, and the love she so generously gave will live on in every story we tell, every hug we share, and every act of kindness we extend to one another.

She will be deeply missed for all the rest of our days. We find comfort knowing she is at peace, reunited with her husband, and watching over us with the same fierce love she showed throughout her beautiful life.
