It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Margaret Mikota (née Masterson), age 55, a beloved and lifelong resident of Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood.
Margaret was the cherished wife of 33 years to Darryl Mikota. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her loving children Megan N. Mikota and Matthew J. Mikota, who were the pride and joy of her life.
She was the dear sister of Debra Masterson-Sheehan (Dennis Sheehan), and the beloved daughter of the late Bernard Masterson and the late Patricia Masterson (née Donovan).
Margaret was also the dear niece of the late Kathleen (Tom McGovern) Donovan and the caring cousin of Patricia (Steve) Ballay and Tara (Abner) Berrios. She was the cherished aunt of Jacob, Elizabeth, Jathen, Anthony, Chastity, Serenity and the God-mother of Scarlett.
Margaret was also the life-long best friend and “sister” of Jackie (Kevin) Kraus-Crane.
Margaret had a passion for scrapbooking and found joy in preserving precious memories for her family and friends. Her creativity, warmth, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to NAMI Chicago.
May she rest in eternal peace.
