Mrs. Marie P. Ehrlicher

Marie Wilhelmina Barbara Preiser Ehrlicher, natural daughter of Wolfgang Zeilner and Wilhelmina Preiser, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the 2nd day of May 2014 at age 90.She was born the 31st of March 1924 in Chicago and baptized the 13th of April 1924 at St. Rose of Lima. She had her first communion the 5th of June 1932, took confirmation the 10th of June 1936, and married the late Richard Anthony Ehrlicher (1918-2004) the 10th of October 1942, all at St. Augustine.She worked over 30 years for Adoph Rostenberg, Jr., M.D. and Lawrence M. Solomon, M.D. as head secretary and stenographer in the department of dermatology at the University of Illinois. Marie pursued many theatrical interests throughout her life. Some of her fondest memories included:Playing the Queen's Maid in the St. Augustine Production of Snow White (1930), breaking through the gender boundary when she scored the leading role of Julius Ceasar in the St. Augustine Theater (later 1930's), dancing on TV in Eddie Hubbard's Breakfast Club (1950's), performing in the opera Petrushka (1977), and appearing in the films The Killing Floor (1985) and Let's Dance (2010); all the while enjoying many years of training with Diana Tarandy's School of Dance.She also had an eccentric passion for holiday interior decorating, especially for Halloween.Marie is survived by; 7 children including: Etta (Ron Rybski), Anthony "Spike" (Linda & Teresa), the late Damian (Linda), Mark (Sandy), Kurt (Cindy), Jason (Maureen), and David (Rose & Ivonne); 20 grandchildren including: David Wolfgang von Ehrlicher "Sonny/Sweety Bug" her favorite; and 15 great-grandchildren.Rest in peace Marie, we love and miss you dearly.
